In 2014 Nike SB, Jordan Brand, and skate legend Lance Mountain teamed up for what many people deemed the collaboration of the year. The resulting Air Jordan 1 by Lance Mountain features a mismatched pairing of the “Bred” and “Royal” colorways coated with black or red paint, a motif inspired by the practice skateboarders in the 1980s customizing their skate shoes with spraypaint and markers.
